Hawaii’s Fallen Heroes Memorial Ceremony

 (Honolulu, Hi) –  On May 14, 2023, the Hawai’i Wing Civil Air Patrol Maryknoll Cadet Squadron and the Honolulu Police Explorers participated for a second year in the Hawaii Law Enforcement Memorial ceremony helping to recognize and pay respect to Hawaii’s fallen law enforcement officers by reading the names of our fallen officers, which agency they served, and end of their watch while laying a rose on their plaques.

5th Annual Pacific Region Cadet Competition Launches

5th Annual Pacific Region Cadet Competition Launches

(McMinnville, OR) –  Blasting off this weekend at the Evergreen Aviation Museum with a full range of challenges and activities, April 28th to 30th, the Pacific Region Civil Air Patrol hosts its 5th annual Region Cadet Competition. Twelve cadet teams representing Alaska, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington gather to compete for bragging rights and two winners will be selected to represent the Pacific Region to compete for the national title.

Hawai’i Civil Air Patrol recognizes 53d Space Operations Squadron, Detachment Delta.

(Wahiawa, Hawai’i) – Col. Stacy Haruguchi, Hawai’i Wing Civil Air Patrol commander, presented the 53d Space Operations Squadron, Detachment Delta, and their volunteer members with a certificate of appreciation for their support in educating and partnering with the Hawaii Wing CAP cadets and senior members, offering a look into their operations at their Wahiawa facility, Jan 14, 2023.

12th-Year Wreaths Across America - Kona Composite Squadron

Kona, Hawaii - On December 17th, the Civil Air Patrol Cadets of the Kona Composite Squadron along with the sponsors named below, participated in the 12th year of supporting Wreaths Across America and placing 612 wreaths at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery. This is a tradition of placing wreaths on the headstones of our Nation's fallen heroes at Arlington National Cemetery and hundreds of other veterans’ cemeteries across the country during the holidays. The mission – to Remember, Honor, and Teach about the sacrifices made by our veterans – has captured the hearts and minds of many communities across the country.

Hawaii Wing Suspends Search For Missing Aircraft

Honolulu, Hawai’i – On 16 December & 17 December, Hawai’i Wing Civil Air Patrol U.S. Airforce Auxiliary unit (CAP) volunteers responded to a request for aerial support from the Fourteenth Coast Guard District (USCG) to assist in a search and rescue mission of a missing aircraft.

As Mauna Loa continues to erupt, the Hawaii Wing Civil Air Patrol is monitoring its activity from the sky. Lt. Col. Dana McLaughlin, the Hawaii Wing Director of Emergency Services and Incident Commander, joined Good Morning Hawaii to talk about the organization’s response, so far, to the eruption.

Hawai‘i Wing Provides Eyes in the Sky - Update

Hilo, Hawai’i – Hawai‘i Wing Civil Air Patrol (CAP) volunteers responded at 2:45 am this morning to a request from the Hawai‘i Emergency Management Agency to fly a US Geological Survey volcanologist, a mission pilot, and aerial photographer to observe conditions associated with with the eruption of Mauna Loa.

Hawaii Wing Provides Eyes In The Sky

Hilo, Hawai’i – Hawai’i Wing Civil Air Patrol (CAP) volunteers responded at 2:45 this morning to a request from the Hawai’i Emergency Management Agency to fly a U.S. Geological Survey volcanologist to observe conditions associated with the eruption of Mauna Loa. Also onboard the aircraft is the CAP mission pilot and aerial photographer. An incident command post has been opened in Hilo while CAP volunteers from three islands and the mainland have already responded in support of this early morning mission.

Maui CAP Partners with Wreaths Across America

Maui CAP Is Proud to Officially Announce Its Continuing Support for Wreaths Across America

Civil Air Patrol will join volunteers and participating locations across the country to Remember, Honor and Teach
 

Kahului, HI — November 4, 2022 The Maui County Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is supporting Wreaths Across America at the Makawao Veterans Cemetery at noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022. This is the Second year that The Maui County Composite Squadron will participate in the national program whose mission is to Remember the fallen, Honor those who served, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.

Promotion Night at Wheeler Composite Squadron

Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawai‘i -  9th Wheeler Composite Squadron of Hawai‘i Wing Civil Air Patrol, has a new record for monthly promotions with 21 cadets.

Six of the promoting cadets have joined within the past two months, completing their first achievement, receiving the John F. Curry Award, and are officially Cadet Airman. Cadets receiving their first insignia is always special and for Wheeler Composite Squadron it is something that is truly celebrated and doesn’t go unnoticed.
