November 4, 2022

Maui CAP Is Proud to Officially Announce Its Continuing Support for Wreaths Across America

Civil Air Patrol will join volunteers and participating locations across the country to  Remember, Honor and Teach

Kahului, HI — November 4, 2022 The Maui County Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol is supporting Wreaths Across America at the Makawao Veterans Cemetery at noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022. This is the Second year that The Maui County Composite Squadron will participate in the national program whose mission is to Remember the fallen, Honor those who served, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.

Their goal is to support efforts that help unify our community and celebrate our freedom by thanking the over 3,500 veterans laid to rest at Makawao Veterans Cemetery with the placement of a live, balsam veteran’s wreath this December.

“We are so proud to be sponsoring such a great event in honor of our fallen Veterans.  We really need to show our military Ohana that we value their service in the protection of this great

nation.” Said Captain Darryl Ng, Commander of the Maui County Composite Squadron.  “We are asking our community to come out and make a pledge so that we can honor every grave this holiday season as we look for members in the community to help lay wreaths on the graves of the fallen this December 17th."

Those interested in volunteering for Wreaths Across America or sponsoring a wreath to support The Maui County Composite Squadron are invited to visit maui.cap.gov or order direct at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/HI0028P to learn more. A $15 donation provides the means for us to ship a fresh wreath made in Maine directly to the Makawao Veterans Cemetery for the event.

This year’s event will be held at the Makawao Veterans Cemetery at 3361 Baldwin Ave, Makawao, HI  96768 on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at noon.  All are welcome to come and participate in honoring our fallen heroes.

WAA Day is a free, non-political, community event open to all people.
