In October, the Aerospace Education and Cadet Programs Directorates are teaming up for our second annual Wing Rocketry event. This will be held on Saturday, October 24th, from 10am to noon. It will be a virtual event, with instruction provided by Maj Martin Guiles and a few cadet leaders, with some basic rocket-building activities.

To participate actively, attendees will need to have on-hand the supplies listed in the instructions for the Fizzy Flyer, Goddard Rocket, and Alpha Rocket (see right side bar).

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions and geographic separation, the Wing is relying on squadrons to help make this event a success. Squadron leaders have been encouraged to assist with supplies. Members are encouraged to obtain as many supplies as possible on their own and advise their squadron leaders about unmet needs.

Rocket launches will be handled at the Unit level, taking into consideration area regulations and pandemic restrictions. Planning for a Wing-wide launch event on Oahu will get underway as soon as practical.
